Hhhmmm,
not too many pictures this day. We rode out relatively early to meet up with
some other new members of our group, among them our good friends Art and
Steve!, who would be joining us for a week or so of our trip into rock art
country and beyond. We rode out of Don Nacho’s ranch with a ton of mules and
donkeys to meet up with our new riders and a truck with supplies, Leslie and
Luna!
Pues, este día no hay demasiadas fotos. Salimos relativamente temprano para poder reunirnos con otros miembros nuevos del grupo, entre ellos nuestros buenos amigos Arturo y Esteban (Art y Steve J), quienes nos acompañarían unos días para el segmento del viaje involucrando pinturas rupestre y mas allá. Salimos del rancho de Don Nacho con un montón, literal, de mulas y burros para encontrarnos con los nuevos jinetes y con un auto que nos abastecería de víveres, Leslie y Luna!
We basically rode in an odd half cloudy light all day until nightfall when we reached our last ranch, La Tinaja, before heading into the land of no roads that is the Sierra de San Francisco. At this lovely place we were received by one of Chema’s daughters, Raquel, her husband Aurelio and their new baby. Raquel must been a miracle worker because she was able to provide a very large group with very large appetites a stunning meal of goat stew, rice and beans, and some of the most delicious home made flour tortillas ever!
Básicamente
cabalgamos todo el día en una luz rara y opaca hasta el atardecer cuando
llegamos al último rancho, La Tinaja, antes de adentrarnos en el país de pocos caminos que
es la Sierra de San Francisco. En este hermoso lugar fuimos recibidos por una
de las hijas de Chema, Raquel, su esposo Aurelio y su nuevo bebé. De Raquel estamos seguros que hace milagros. Logro alimentar a
una grupo grande con apetitos aún mas grandes de una contundente birria de
chivo, arrocito y frijol, junto con unas de las mas deliciosas tortillas de
harina (hechas a mano, claro) que he probado!
